Bio
I graduated from Augsburg College with a BA in Psychology and Studio Art, Double Majors, and from Adler Graduate School with a MA in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy, Clinical Counseling, and Art Therapy. I am working toward LPCC in clinical counseling and ATR-BC in art therapy. My experience includes working with children, adult individuals and couples, and families who have issues with stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, life adjustments, trauma, grief and loss, developmental disabilities, serious and persistent mental illness, in clinical and non-clinical settings.
Through an accepting and collaborative therapist-client relationship, I use a holistic approach to encourage and guide clients to find joy and hope while focusing on body, mind, and spirit to achieve wellness goals. Clients concentrate on self with authenticity that enables personal growth. I help clients focus on solutions and personal narratives, explore creative self-expression, and find peace and fulfillment. Clients learn ways to co-exist with others and community for an enriching, positive, and purposeful life. I have a passion for art and helping people get to know themselves better through the creative process which allows clarity, empowerment, and the authentic self to emerge. We all have a unique creative process that evolves. When we experience and realize our creative process, we are empowered, and experience fulfillment and joy that can be shared with others. Art therapy is a choice, it has many approaches and is liked by some, and not liked by others. You are not required to participate in art therapy while in session working with me.
